HONOLULU — Several public school parents and their kids yesterday distributed meals and books to homeless children in Kaka'ako Waterfront Park, an attempt to bring attention to the estimated 1,700 schoolchildren who likely go without free, school-provided breakfast and lunch on "furlough Fridays."
