CALDWELL — The Vallivue Falcon Marching Corps entertains 19 other high school bands Saturday for the 2009 Treasure Valley Festival of Bands. The 144-member Falcon band is fresh from its seventh place finish at the Oct. 3 Southwest Washington Cavalcade of Bands competition. Vallivue was selected to perform in the championship finals of the event.

HOMEDALE — If anyone does not believe in the age-old saying, "defense wins championships," then they obviously have not seen the 2009 Parma Panthers football team play. The Panthers used some good old fashion defense to top the Homedale Trojans 30-13 in nonconference football action at Homedale High School on Friday night.
