Two Little Illini Conference volleyball foes are to battle for the IHSA Class 1A sectional championship at 7 p.m. today at Red Hill High School in Bridgeport as Cumberland tangles with Edwards County. Cumberland enters with a 27-2 record, while the Lady Lions are 34-3.

BRIDGEPORT -- The Cumberland Lady Pirates advanced to the 2009 IHSA Class 1A volleyball sectional championship match on Thursday by defeating the Lady Cougars of South Central 25-18, 26-24 Tuesday night at Red Hill High School.

Three area volleyball teams are set to compete tonight in two different IHSA Class 1A volleyball sectional semifinals, and all three are different matches. Tri-County, 18-11, and Windsor, 28-7, are at Windsor with the host school playing the first match at 6 p.m. against Danville Schlarman, 27-4. The Lady Titans are to play at 7 p.m. against perennial powerhouse Mount Pulaski, 23-4.
