ROCK FALLS – Rock Falls Chamber members are slightly in favor of the proposed countywide 1 percent sales tax for schools. An “unscientific” e-mail poll of the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce’s 380 members ended in a “dead heat,” the chamber office said Wednesday.

Rock Falls Township High School, better known simply as Rock Falls High School, is a four year public high school located in Rock Falls, Illinois. Five area middle schools feed into the high school which include: Rock Falls Middle School, Montmorency School, East Coloma School, Riverdale School, and Nelson School.
Community
Rock Falls is located 110 miles west of Chicago, 60 miles southwest of Rockford, and 50 miles northeast of the Quad Cities. Rock Falls has a population of approximately 10,000 and Sterling, its sister city, has a population of 15,000.
Activities
Rock Falls' athletic teams are known as the "Rockets" or "Lady Rockets" and the freshman football team is technically the "Meteors" but is still referred to as the "Rockets." Rock Falls competes in the North Central Illinois Conference.In 2008, the Rock Falls High School Contest Play and Group Interpretation teams won the NCIC match, and many of the actors received all conference awards.
