A Peru Junior High School substitute teacher was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly battered a 14-year-old female student at the school. Phillip J. Streby, 59, 172 W. Second, is charged with a class A misdemeanor count of battery.

Since 1936, circus lovers nationwide have helped preserve the American circus by building models. From Monday through Wednesday, at least 60 circus scale replicas will be on display at Peru Junior High School during the Circus Model Builders Inc. (CMB) international convention.
