NORTHWEST INDIANA | Individuals who are at least 17 years old (16 with parental permission in some states), meet height and weight requirements (at least 110 pounds based on height) and are in general good health may be eligible to donate blood. The new spring ISTEP-Plus exam challenged students across the state, which was evident by a slight decrease in the number of students passing the test. The Indiana Department of Education released scores on Wednesday, and it was a mixed bag for local schools. Because the test is new, it doesn't invite direct comparison with previous years.
