South Oldham High School is located in Crestwood, Kentucky and serves pupils in 9th-12th grade. The school's principal is Dorenda Neihof.The school's mascot is the Dragon, it is green to reflect the school colors of green, blue and silver. South Oldham opened in 1989 because Oldham County High School became overcrowded.
- Academics
- The school has produced numerous National Merit Finalists.
- The school annually sends several students to the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program and the Kentucky Governor's School For The Arts.
- The Dragon's Tale, the student-run newspaper, has won numerous Kentucky High School Journalism Association awards under the direction of Cindi Reedy.
- The school's Advanced Placement BC Calculus Course, taught by Larry McCloskey, regularly has 100% of students score a 3 (passing is 3 and above) or better on the exam.

SOHS was included in the 2009 Silver Award list of U.S.News & World Report.
- In addition, Newsweek Magazine just released their list of top U.S. High schools for 2009. SOHS made the top 1500 (number 753) high schools. This ranking put them in the top 6% of the public high schools in the nation.
- South Oldham High School was named as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
- SOHS also met 10 of 10 target goals in the 2008 Yearly Progress Report for "No Child Left Behind".
- Athletics
- The girls' soccer team has won 6 (1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001) Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) championships under head coach Cy Tucker.. The girls' soccer team has also produced 3 consecutive Miss Soccer award winners: Jennifer Gibson (1999), Kristal Menard (2000), and Emily Cobb (2001).
- The boys' cross country team won the 2001 KHSAA AAA team championship in 2000 under head coach Houston Barber.
- Alli Sauer won the KHSAA AAA individual cross country championship in 1999.
- The wrestling team won the KHSAA team championship in 2003. The wrestling team has also produced 5 individual state champions: Daniel Murner (2006), Nick Fiser (2003), Steven Lovewell (2003), Derek Scott (2005, 2006) and Taylor Scherer (2004, 2005, 2006).
- Eric Quigley won the KHSAA boys' individual tennis championship in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.
