    PAWNEE — The Oklahoma Historical Society’s Parade of Historic Santas will visit Pawnee Bill Ranch in Pawnee from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 19. The program depicts many historic vintage Santas who tell their own part of the story of St. Nicholas.

    One origin of Halloween is associated with an ancient Celtic festival called Samhain which was held annually on Oct. 31. The Celts celebrated Nov. 1 as their new year because it marked the end of the summer and harvest season and beginning of the dark, cold winter season they associated with death.
