Tony Hoskings (pictured), a retired electrician who lives near the Perranporth beach of Cornwall in southwestern England, was walking his dog with friends this summer when he saw that a bottle with a note in it had washed up. A University of Maryland, Baltimore County student's note stuffed in a corked wine bottle spent five years bobbing across the Atlantic until it washed ashore.
