School Reviews

I am a parent of two children that attend Baker. Baker WAS a great school. It still is very good academically and the teachers are great. But it has declined in the last couple of years dramatically. It has especially taken a bad turn this year with the new principal who seems to be a control freak and turned the place into a military school. My kids have not been able to finish their lunches because the principal comes into the cafeteria when there is still time to eat and starts clapping telling the kids to stop eating. You have to be a secret service to get into the school after hours if your child forgets anything. At Halloween they separated the parents from the kids during the parade such that we only got to see them pass by once. At Baker, there was already a lack of community due to the large amount of temporary people that pass through (many people rent nearby and leave after a few years). And the previous principals did a very good job of making the place feel welcoming. But now, my kids dread going to school in the morning. I despise dealing with the school. I'm seriously considering moving away, even though it will be difficult for my older child. But it may be for the best. What a waste of money it was to move here.

At Baker, there is a strong family environment that helps with focus, security, and stability, throughout the school year and every day. Baker is my 6th school, and it is the best by far.
