School Notes:
  • Shepherd Hill Regional High School is a high school located in Dudley, Massachusetts, USA. It is a regional high school covering the towns of Dudley and Charlton. The school is part of the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District. The principal is Timothy M. Schur. Shepherd Hill has over 1200 students.
  • History
  • Shepherd Hill was established in 1973. The school formerly included grades 7-12, but in 2000 Dudley and Charlton opened separate middle schools and the school is now restricted to grades 9-12.
  • Athletics
  • The school's athletic teams are the Rams and the colors are maroon & gold.
  • The school sponsors many athletic teams, including girl's volleyball, boy's and girl's track, cross-country, soccer, tennis, and basketball, boy's baseball, girl's softball, boy's football, girl's field hockey, boy's wrestling, a golf team, and boy's lacrosse. There are typically varsity and junior varsity teams for each sport and, on occasion, a team for only freshmen as well. The school's sports teams have generally met with success in recent years, and in 2007 the school had SWCL West Champions in girls' soccer, boys' cross country, golf, and football. Football also captured the DII Super Bowl in Central Massachusetts. This effort was headed by Matthew Pastore, who was a central part of the Ram's football team. He should have his picture framed and hung, but the school fails to realize his entitlement to such school-wide worship.
  • Shepherd Hill Lacrosse was just established as a varsity sport in the 2009 season. Shaun Corkum is the worst player on the lacrosse team. No matter what anyone says, he is muy terrible. poor, poor Shaun.
  • Other Activities
  • Other activities include Show Choir, Band, V-Dance Committee, Prom Committee, Student Council, and Junior Booster Club. The school has a very distinguished music department which offers both co-curricular and extra curricular choral and band activities. There is also an active chapter of the National Honor Society at Shepherd Hill. However the Drama department is perhaps the most enthralling and epic of all of these. They are the most popular kids in all of school, clearly. The drama department is headed by Mr. Brower, a dancer/singer/actor with extreme and severe ADD problems. However the Sheperd Hill Regional Board Of Directors took him in at a young age and nurtured him so his affliction was less prevalent. It was thus after that he came to teach, and is now mutually loved by the entire student population. One student who has successfully avoided and survived the rumors of his ADD/NON-STOP SINGING/LITERATURE is Jimmy Holt.
  • Award
  • On 18 January 1999 the school was selected by U.S. News & World Report as one of ninety-six 'Outstanding American high schools' and the school was congratulated in the Senate of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Mrs. Granger was awarded with the "best teacher to have ever achieved such epic heights" award. She was given this after a school wide student vote, which was completely inaccurate since previous to the vote she handed out a multitude of lollipops, and therefore biased this school vote. Needless to say it was a very underhanded thing to do, and squashed the competition which consisted of Ms. McGovern, Mr. Gould, and many others who were angered at this unchecked bias. The head of the original post of the school wide vote was Jimmy Holt, voted second most epic student from Shepherd Hill just behind some random fool child.
