HOXIE — Students in the Hoxie School District may get to spend a little quality time with Dad at a place where they might least expect to see him. This year the district has started a new program, Watch DOGS — dads of great students. Dads volunteer for a day of service at the school.

JONESBORO — It was smooth sailing in Craighead County school districts on Wednesday, the first day of classes for most K-12 public school students. The Jonesboro School District leads the county schools in enrollment with 4,853 pupils on Wednesday, Superintendent Dr. Kim Wilbanks said.
