Tears rolled down Robert Cowans' cheeks as he listened to taps at Allied Veterans Cemetery. Cowans, 84, of Fort Gratiot, who served in the Army during World War II, was one of many honored Wednesday by Veterans Day services across the Blue Water Area.

Hundreds of area residents have attended Veteran's Day services all across the Blue Water Area today. There were ceremonies at Avoca Elementary School, Fort Gratiot Middle School, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Peck Park, the Allied Veterans Cemetery and many more venues.
