Voters did a turnaround at the polls yesterday on a Proposition 2 1/2 override to fund a new $70.8 million high school, approving the measure by a decisive 2,602 to 1,115.

With state reimbursement of up to $25 million, Wayland voters did a turnaround at the ballot on Tuesday on a new $70.8 million High School, approving the measure by a decisive 2,602 to 1,115, compared with a previous vote in January 2005 of 2,645 to 2,005 against a building project after the state shut down its former school building assistance program.

The Wayland High School Building Committee (HSBC) will be offering an additional public forum this Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the large hearing room at the Town Building. At the forum, the HSBC will present information about the proposal for the Wayland High School construction project, including the proposed design, schedule and a tax impact analysis.
