Dawn Allred visits with 7-year-old Skyler Sanders during lunch Wednesday. Seventeen months ago, Skyler Sanders was diagnosed with an inoperable, malignant brain tumor. A half-marathon will be held this weekend to help raise money Sanders.

UPDATE: The Santa Barbara Co. Sheriff's Dept. has completed it's investigation into what caused a daylong lockdown at 4 Goleta schools, including San Marcos High School. Deputies say after interviewing 4 teens suspecting in the incident, none was in possession of a firearm. However, one student did admit to pointing a sports drink bottle at a car. No arrests have been made and charges are not ...

Several elementary schools were placed on lockdown Thursday morning after authorities received a report of a man with a gun. Sheriff deputies say they were notified that a man carrying a gun was seen near Vieja Valley Elementary School.
