COLTS NECK — Members of the Colts Neck Board of Education have approved a $350,000 decrease to the Colts Neck School District tax levy for the 2009-10 school year. Township Committee members and school officials trimmed the tax levy after its defeat in the April 21 school election. Voters defeated the board's proposed $19.

Colts Neck Township Committee members have voted to cut $350,000 from the Colts Neck K-8 School District 2009-10 budget after voters rejected a proposed $19.2 million general fund tax levy in April. Colts Neck Mayor Benjamin T. Forester, Deputy Mayor Kenneth F. Florek and Committeeman Edward C. Eastman Jr. voted to certify a general fund tax levy of $18.
