The Caesar Rodney High School football team, by defeating its cross-town rival, Dover High School, this past weekend, earned a berth to the DIAA state tournament as a No. 5 seed. The Riders will face No. 4 Sussex Tech in the first round Nov. 21.

The Dover High School football team closed its 2009 season with a tough 42-12 loss to cross-town rival Caesar Rodney High School. The one consolation for Head Coach Carlton Brown's team is that they only lose four seniors to graduation, meaning they'll return an experienced team next season.

Caravel Academy has secured the No. 3 seed in the 2009 Boys’ Soccer Tournament. The Buccaneers (12-2-1) will travel to Dover High School to take on No. 14 Appoquinimink (9-5-1) on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Dover High School is located in Dover, New Jersey in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Dover School District.

The school was the 215th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. Athletics
The Dover High School Tigers compete in the Hills division of the Iron Hills Conference, an athletic conference of high schools located in Essex County, Morris County and Union County in New Jersey.
In 2002, the boys soccer team won the North II, Group II state sectional championship, defeating Parsippany High School 1-0 in the tournament final.
