    MARLBORO — A six-classroom addition proposed for the Frank Defino Central School, Route 79, was approved by the public during a referendum vote held on Sept. 29. Unofficial results provided by the Marlboro K-8 School District indicate that the project was approved by a count of 1,153 yes votes to 428 no votes.

    Leaky ceiling panels and cracked and rotted wood foundations are some of the conditions that almost 200 Marlboro children see when they enter their modular units for class every day. In the back of the Frank Defino Central School, Route 79, Marlboro, are four modular units that are nearing 50 years of use.

    On Sept. 29, residents in Marlboro will be asked to go to the polls and vote on a referendum that seeks approval to construct an addition to the Frank Defino Central School, Route 79, Marlboro. Marlboro K-8 School District Business Administrator Cindy Barr-Rague said the district already has the $2 million that is necessary for the addition.
