  • Albuquerque High School is a high school (grades 9–12) in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. It is a member of the Albuquerque Public School district. In 2003 it had some 1,840 students and 111 teachers.
  • The school's origin can be traced back to the Albuquerque Academy (not to be confused with the present Albuquerque Academy founded in 1955), established in 1879 with 27 students by the Colorado College of Colorado Springs. It was taken over by the city in 1891, and was renamed "Albuquerque High School". The school moved to the corner of Broadway and Central in 1914, and it moved to its present location in 1974. Presently, the original Albuquerque High School building is functioning as lofts.
  • Albuquerque High School Poetry Club
  • The Albuquerque High School Poetry Club is organized by Sara Bernstein, a Creative Writing teacher at Albuquerque High School. The AHS Poetry Club coach is Damien Flores. With her instruction and support, the Albuquerque High School Poetry Club has placed most notably in 1st place multiple times, and a second and third place, at the State Poetry Competition hosted by Taos High School in Taos, New Mexico.The 2007-2008 team consisted of (in no particular order) Jaime Jaramillo, Josh Gonzales, Miguel Figueroa, and Amber Santos.The alternates for the 2007-2008 team are (in no particular order) Quinn Palmer, Kale Carrillo-Beck, Sarah Tafoya and Olivia Gatwood.
  • The Record of Albuquerque High School
  • The Record, the official Albuquerque High School student newspaper, is the oldest student publication in the state of New Mexico. It is published monthly and covers important school, regional, and national events, in addition to features, reviews, and opinion pieces relevant to students. For the 2008-2009 school year the paper is in its ninety-first volume.
  • Bulldog Battalion
  • The Bulldog Battalion is the Albuquerque High School Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (AJROTC) Unit. They were formed in 1946, and they were the first unit established in New Mexico. Currently, the unit holds the Honor Unit with Distinction Award, given to the top five percent of JROTC units in the country. They attained this award in May 2006. Currently, the Bulldog Battalion has a number of teams, including three active Color Guards (one training), one active Armed Drill Team, one active Unarmed Drill Team, one active Saber Team one active Female Physical Training (PT) Team, and one active Male PT Team.

  • Albuquerque Evening High School
  • Albuquerque Evening High School was started in 1914 as part of Albuquerque High School. The school is for students who need to earn credits to graduate and for those students who want to graduate early. In 1977 Albuquerque Evening High became a separate school.
