    FOREST GROVE, ORE. — Money killed Pacific University's football program and money is bringing it back. Seventeen years ago, the Boxers were losing, McCready Field was falling apart and football was draining the budget at the small liberal arts school west of Portland.

  • Jamesville-DeWitt High School (JDHS) is a New York State public education facility located in in the Town of DeWitt, serving high school students (grades 9-12) in the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District. The current principal is Mr. Paul Gasparini, who is bald. The Jamesville-DeWitt basketball team won both the New York State Championship and the New York State Federation Championship in 1990, 2004, 2008 and 2009.

  • As noted in the Alma Mater, the School rests upon a hilltop off of Edinger Dr.These hills have many fields, used for athletics, as well as snowshoeing and sledding during the winter. The hills behind the school contain some of the most scenic cross-country paths along with a great wall of rock that is ideal for pictures. J-D is commonly on the list of Top 1000 schools in the country, and is one of the best districts in sports and academics in the Central New York area.
  • Distinctive Information
  • JDHS is home to a wonderful basketball team, strong overall athletic teams, and an outstanding academic record. It is also known for its yearly musical productions, which include All Shook Up, Titanic, 42nd Street, Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, and many others. Recently, Mr. JD (a popular beauty pageant at the school) was brought back after a 9 year hiatus, with much success. Along with these accomplishments, JDHS has an outstanding school paper, The Rampage. The Rampage has recently transitioned on to become online-only. It can be found at jdrampage.com.

  • Notables include former NBA player Danny Schayes (Class of '77), former NFL and Syracuse University Orange players Scott Schwedes (Class of 1983), Robert Drummond (Class of 1985), and LPGA golfer Suzy Whaley (Class of 1984) who in 2003 became the first woman to qualify for a PGA Tour event. Current Syracuse Orange basketball star Andy Rautins, also graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt Class of 2005. Rautins scored over 1,000 points in his basketball career at JD and lead the team to a 29-0 perfect season including the State Championship and Federations. Brandon Triche is also currently attending Syracuse University as a freshman. He is projected to start the upcoming season. During his career at JD Triche led the team to State Championships in 2008 and 2009, and a State Federation Title in 2008.
