    Eight finalists were announced Wednesday in the MidCarolina Bank Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year awards program. Six finalists are teachers in the Alamance-Burlington School System. They will compete for the Teacher of the Year award that will be announced Sept. 9.

    The Alamance-Burlington Sch ool System is offering a summer Artsploration program for students currently in kindergarten through fifth grade. This year's theme is "The Fairy Tale Factory." Students will participate in visual arts, music, creative movement and drama.
