JACKSONVILLE – While one thing that occurred at the NCHSAA 2A East Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday was pretty much expected, something else was very unexpected, and both results benefitted the teams from Topsail High School.

BEULAVILLE – The Topsail boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each finished second on Saturday in the East Central 2A Conference championship meet and standout senior runner Zatha Loewen brought home a gold medal in the meet run at Cabin Lake Park in Beulaville.
Wilkins gets off to solid start with Wolves (Washington Daily News)

Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, had a great debut with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Wilkins had a putback at the buzzer that lifted Minnesota to a 95-93 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday night. He finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in the game.
Cullop shines for Warriors (Washington Daily News)

Stephen Cullop made his second start in goal a special one. Cullop, a former standout at Terra Ceia, started in goal for the Waldford Warriors and kept Faith Baptist College off the scoreboard in Saturday’s 8-0 win.
