When Eva Martinez made the leap from Bridgeport High School to her first class at Michigan State University, she was in for a shock. About 600 students were in attendance for the class, which lasted two hours.

The principal of Bridgeport High School said students were well-behaved as they sat in the gymnasium this morning and firefighters from Spaulding and Bridgeport Township fire departments walked the school with meters testing for unsafe levels of propane in the air.

Bridgeport Township firefighters responded to Bridgeport High School about 8 a.m. to investigate a possible gas leak. No further information was immediately available.

Bridgeport High School is a public high school in Bridgeport, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Bridgeport Exempted Village School District. Bridgeport plays in the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. Their mascot is the Bulldog and the school colors are Columbia blue and black. The school moved to its current location at 55707 Industrial Dr in January 2007. The new school complex houses all PreK-12 students.
