Riverside High School is a public high school in Painesville Township, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Riverside Local School District (prior to July 2007, the Painesville Township Local School District). The first classes were held in September of 1949 and the first class of seniors graduated in 1952. The campus was originally two separate buildings- one for the lower grades, and the second for the upper grades. In the late 1990's, The John J. Weiss Media Center was built connecting the two buildings with four computer classrooms, a television studio, and a library.
Logo infringement
In 2004, Oregon State University forced Riverside High School and the Riverside Local School District to change their Beaver mascot logo because of copyright concerns.
Other Items of Interest
Riverside High School is also home to the Riverside Community Field House that is open to all residents who live within the district. It contains a weight room, an indoor track, and a basketball court. This facility is also used as a venue for the school's basketball and wrestling teams. The campus also features two softball fields, two baseball fields, two soccer fields, and a football stadium with a track surrounding the football field.
Classes can be sometimes disrupted due the school being near the Norfolk Southern mainline, which runs along the northern edge of the campus. Trains sounding locomotive airhorns can make classes difficult, especially during warmer weather when classroom windows are open. However disruptions from trains are not as frequent as they used to be as NS has routed some of the traffic onto other lines after the breakup of Conrail.

Greg Thomas, previously CIO at SunCal Companies and currently VP, Director of Information Technology at Colony Capital LLC. Class of 1981.
Scott Shafer, former defensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines football program. Class of 1985.
Jason Short, linebacker for the Cleveland Browns. Class of 1997.
