The parents of Kris Kerstiens said Tuesday nothing indicated he was at risk for the swine flu. They said he was in good health but in just two weeks after becoming ill he had passed away from the H1N1 virus.

Beaverton High School, is a public high school located in Beaverton, Oregon. Opened in 1902, it is the oldest high school in Beaverton.
History
Beaverton High School now contains grades 9-12. The adjacent building (Merle Davies School) was built during the Great Depression by the WPA. It was shut down in late 2006, but is scheduled for renovations. The main building has undergone renovations and expansions since it was built.
Academics
In 1985, Beaverton High School was honored in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest honor a school can receive in the United States.
In 2008, 75% of the school's seniors received their high school diploma. Of 521 students, 390 graduated, 99 dropped out, 5 received a modified diploma, and 27 are still in high school.
