Several of the area's top high school basketball teams will be here in the Maple City this winter to compete in the 50th Annual Honesdale Area Jaycees Holiday Tournament. According to Jaycees officials, Honesdale, Paupack, Western Wayne, Forest City and Nazareth are in the bracket.

As Americans fight two wars abroad, here in Honesdale the memories of soldiers fallen, soldiers lost, and the men and women of today’s armed forces who carry the flag through thick-and-thin were granted their just honor at Veterans Day ceremonies on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, October 20, The Wayne Highlands Middle School celebrated Red Ribbon Festivities with an aerial photo of a human peace sign designed by Mr. Eugene Hopkins. This event included the entire student body forming a peace sign and also committing their lives to a drug free existence. Mr. John Krajkovich provided the plane and photo for the student body.

Sam Burcher of Honesdale may be just 12-years-old, but he's already grabbing the spotlight at the Wallenpaupack Bowling Center. The talented young kegler recently returned from a huge tournament in North Brunswick, New Jersey.
