Both of my daughters received an excellent education at HFA. Both graduated from college and have advanced degrees. Both were well prepared for college and studied very hard during high school.

Not for everyone, find your place in this very unique HS, it is a wonderful place to grow and experiment your talents and those of your friends and your new friends. Extend your voice in song, on the stage, in the classroom or on the court. Yes there are great athletes that come out of this academic HS. Great tradition and a place you will be proud to be a part of It and to share with others as you grow older. After spending 4 years at HFA you will find that you are more than ready for college and the world in general. Take in all that you can during your time at Hume Fogg, you will NOT regret it.

It is amazing. Hume-Fogg is an awesome school. I figured this out when I heard a lot of their students give a review after they graduated. They said it is better than other high schools they''ve went to in the past. Such as Hunters Lane High and Mcgavock High. The teachers and students help each other out in Hume-Fogg. I give this school a 9.5 on a 1-10 scale of behavior and discipline.

Hume-Fogg, while a strong school, is hardly the 'be-all-and-end-all' of academic excellence it likes to present itself as. It's a good school for a certain 'type' of student: the type who equates grades with intelligence and for whom academics is life. It favors a classical education over creativity, and if you don't fit the mold you won't likely enjoy your time there. Or, your time there won't be very long, as the school will often 'strongly encourage' students to go elsewhere, even up to the second semester of senior year. The school also takes a very 'figure it out yourself' approach to math, with most math classes featuring the teacher writing the material on the board and the students copying it down. It also has a tendency to sweep its less flattering qualities under the rug, and the general atmosphere leans towards a "We're better then you," mentality. This is not to say that it is a bad school per se, and you do get opportunies there that are hard to find elsewhere (although not impossible), but it's certainly not for everyone, I would suggest thinking long and hard about whether or not it is the kind of atmosphere where you want to spend four years.

Hume fogg has extremely high standards, which I believe is best for me than to go to a public school. I am available to attend activities containing art or any extracurricular activities. The school is also good for an smart, advanced, and intelligent young lady like me. I am also able to get any credits I would need to attend this magnet school.
