The (made-up) story of hip-hop’s invention: Three guys are passing around a microphone (it doesn’t have to have been plugged in, but there had to be a microphone). What the first guy says doesn’t really matter ’cause he invented hip-hop. The second guy says how much better he is than the first guy.

MacArthur High school is a public high school in Irving, Texas. It is named for General of the Army Douglas MacArthur.
MacArthur High School is perhaps best known for the stunning 1982-83 varsity basketball team led by coach Tom Milford which complied a 30-0 record in regular season play. The team was ranked number 5 in the state by the High School Basketball Coaches Poll. The team finally fell to Ft. Worth Dunbar in regional playoffs. Team members included Bryan Amason, Steve Coffman, Joe Doss, Andy Ellard, Preston Foster, Eric Green, Mike Kelly, Mike Nation, Brad Narrell, Mike O'Donnell, Rusty Troy and Mike Wallak. The team was the subject of an Irving Daily news article in the 1995 that claimed the team was the best example of basketball fundamentals and team play ever observed in a Texas high school team.
MacArthur was named a 2001-02 National Blue Ribbon School.
Notable alumni
Miami Dolphins linebacker, Akin Ayodele also graduated in the late 90's.
Kerry Wood, pitcher of the Chicago Cubs attended grades 9-11, before moving to Grand Prairie, in the late 90's.
Brian Bosworth, who won two Dick Butkus Awards playing for the University of Oklahoma, and later played professionally for the Seattle Seahawks.

Interesting Notes
Bryan Vardeman, currently working as MacArthur's wrestling coach, has been accepted to join as one of the many love-seeking bachelors in fifth edition of "The Bachelorette", which premiered Monday, May 18, 2009.
