School Reviews
5 8/5/2013
Jim Barnes Middle School provides a wonderful tapestry of experiences and opportunities for middle school students. The Band program is award winning, with fantastic Band directors! The athletic department for both boys and girls is amazing! The Coaches work not only on athletics but on helping their students be better students and people. The Pre-Ap classes challenge the students to think and work on a higher, more rigorous level. The teachers really seem to care about their students and pour their hearts into their jobs. The administration works hard to provide a welcoming, safe, yet educationally challenging school. 8th grade students have the opportunity to earn high school credit through Spanish and Algebra. There are wonderful choir and drama teachers but sadly, they are split between this school and AJB across town. The Art teacher is fantastic. Students can also participate in UIL, cheerleading, dance/spirit squad, student council, yearbook, PALS. The building is beautiful and clean. The Library is wonderful.
