It has been four years since a Richfield High School boys soccer team has posted a winning record. And despite losing four games during one week, the 2009 Spartan soccer squad surpassed the .500 record with a 10-8-2 overall mark.

The Dugway Mustangs tuned up for the state tournament Thursday with an easy 67-40 victory over Meridian at Dugway. Zach James, Jackson Jones and Morgan Kartchner combined for 52 points with James and Jones scoring 18 each and Kartchner 16.

A Minnesota Air National Guard helicopter lands in the fields behind Richfield Middle School on Oct. 26. Students had an opportunity to inspect the Blackhawk helicopter up close as part of the National Guard's Drug Demand Reduction Program.
