Thursday morning, Sunrise Elementary School fifth-grade students knew the winds from the storm the night before averaged 44 mph, the highest for November thus far, and had subsided to between 4 and 11 mph by the time they hit the classroom.

Mountain Mischief 4-H Club of Federal Way is joining 4-H groups across King County in a fundraising effort to pay for their next year. Mountain Mischief is among more than a dozen 4-H programs in the county, but the only one in the Federal Way area.

• Police responded to an Elmont Avenue address at 5:50 a.m. Oct. 13 after learning hearing that the front door to a home was open and vehicles were in the driveway. It was determined the wind blew the door open.
