A report of an attempted luring Thursday near Lydia Hawk Elementary School was false, according to Thurston County Sheriff Chief Jim Chamberlain.

A young girl who claimed a man tried to lure her and her friend into his van this week has now admitted that they made up the story. Jim Chamberlain, Thurston County chief deputy, said the girl admitted under questioning that the story was make-believe.

Report of another attempted child luring in the area has investigators looking a second suspect in the wake of a string of attempted luring. "This is the fifth letter we'll be sending home," said Courtney Schrieve of North Thurston Public Schools.
