Khalek Shepherd, a 5-foot-8, 195-pound running back from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Md., has given Virginia its first commitment from a 2010 football prospect in more than two months. Shepherd, a 3.85 student who is the son of former Washington Redskins wide receiver Leslie Shepherd, has rushed for 1,321 yards and scored 21 touchdowns in leading his team to a 9-0 record.
