Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, two unattended Saint Bernard-type dogs were crossing traffic in the 200 block of Long Shoals Road near Valley Springs Middle School. A passer-by stopped to help the dogs and was bitten by one of them.

A new University of Arkansas study puts Harrison Middle School and Valley Springs Middle School among Arkansas’ top 20 middle schools and Skyline Heights Elementary School at Harrison among the top 20 Arkansas elementary schools for combined math and literacy scores on tests given last spring.
