- Academic Decathlon

- Art Club
- Band: Participates in MICCA competition every March and are also took place in a competition in Chicago in April 2007. The Pep Band and Wind Ensemble are separate groups that have rehearsals after school usually from 7:00 to 8:45. Won double gold at MICCA.
- Computer Technology
- International Club
- Junior State of America, not to be confused with the Justice Society of America. Separate events take place on a regional and/or national level. Most recently taking place for Ashland High's chapter was the Fall State convention. Other events include: Fall Regional, Winter Congress, Spring Regional, and Spring State. This group has continued to thrive despite its advisor leaving.
- National Honors Society, Socios Chapter. A student must have a cumulative grade of 87% or higher to be eligible for admittance into the society. Once eligible, in the opening of junior or senior year, the student must complete a form that exemplifies his/her service, leadership, and character. Included, one must have a recommendation from a teacher and another who can verify his/her merit. Once inducted, the student must complete 5 hours of community service each term, and a total of 22 hours of tutoring in the Academic Center. It also has a prior community serivce hour requirement in order to get in. Juniors need 60 hours and seniors need 80 hours. It is totally ridiculous and bars many well qualified students from entry into National Honor Society.

- Student Council. Admittance into the council is based on election by one's class into that class' student government. Roles include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Class Representatives. Otherwise one may attend the meetings as OE or Open Enrollment. He/She must attend three meetings and be involved in three events to become a member of the council. Each year a new executive board with the positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Historian are elected on a vote by the council. The role of the council is to evoke school spirit and raise money for various donations. Recently, donations were made to the Ashland Emergency Fund and the Ashland Food Pantry.
- Renaissance Program. This awards students who attained High Honors, Honors, Merit, or Perfect Attendance with a breakfast, ice cream social, or in-school event of some form.
- Robotics. This is one of the most successful clubs in the school, and has won several awards over the past few years at regional competitions. In July 2005, the team went to the national competition in Jaxonville Florida, where they placed 7th nationally. The club's mentor, Mr. Beaton, who is also the school technology teacher, created the program and has led them to such great success.
- Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
- Ashland High School Theatrical Society. AHSTS is the largest extracurricular program at Ashland High School. It produces two productions each year; a fall play and a winter musical, as well as improvisation nights and an end-of-the year banquet.
