The Sonora High School graduate just concluded his first fall golf season at the College of Charleston and exceeded his expectations.     High school students got a lesson in criminal justice last week at Peer Court, a program where teens guilty of certain crimes are sentenced by their peers. The program, in its 10th year, is a collaborative effort by the Tuolumne County Superior Court, Probation Department, Superintendent of Schools Office, area high schools and local law enforcement.

    High school students and community members learned the dangers of smoking Monday from a man related to “Big Tobacco,” Patrick Reynolds. Reynolds, 54, gave presentations at Summerville High School, Sonora High School and the Sonora Opera Hall about how addictive cigarettes are and how marketing campaigns target youth.

    WEDNESDAY 6:02 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said gas was siphoned from her vehicle on the 19100 block of Sunny Circle for the third time. 8:01 p.m., Groveland — A woman on the 11700 block of Powderhouse Street said people continually siphon gas from her vehicle.
