The Bloomfield High School Athlete of the Month for October is senior soccer player Alexandra Ferri. As a team captain for the Bengals' girls varsity squad, Ferri led the Bengals to victories over league rivals Irvington and Belleville. The senior and her teammates held both teams scoreless.

Bloomfield High School girls varsity cross country runner Nora Nalepka took 19 seconds off of her time from last year, finishing in a time of 19:44 to place eighth overall at the Essex County Championships on Oct. 30 at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield.
