New faces will take the helm of local government in three rural northeastern Connecticut towns. Republicans Allen E. Platt in Eastford and William H. Rose IV in Chaplin emerged victorious over their Democratic opponents to win the first selectman seat, while Democrat Kate Donnelly won a three-way race in Scotland for the top post there.

Parish Hill High School is a regional secondary school and middle school in rural Chaplin, Connecticut.
General Information
Affectionately known as the Hill, the school mascot is the "Pirate", Parish Hill Middle/High School teaches grades 7 to 12 to students from three local towns: Chaplin, Hampton and Scotland. Parish Hill and the elementary schools in these three towns make up Regional District #11.
Mission Statement
"Parish Hill fosters academic and personal excellence, develops the ideals of respect, integrity and fairness, and embraces community participation within a safe school environment." [1]

After School Activities
Parish Hill offers many after-school activities, including Diversity Club, middle school drama club, and middle and high school newspaper clubs.The school offers baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer for middle school and high school students, and Cheerleading, knitting, glee club golf, track & field,cross country and happy hands for high school students.
Recent news
Recently, due to poor tests scores and high per pupil costs, the three sending towns of Scotland, Chaplin and Hampton are exploring the options of withdrawal from, dissolving of or re-envisioning the high school.
Parish Hill has recently undergone evaluation by a NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) visiting team and is a fully credited school. Official Web Site
