When you consider how Bacon Academy started this year, the end result was pretty good. The Bobcats did see the season come to a close as they lost to Tolland, 3-1, in a Class M boys soccer quarterfinal match Monday afternoon at the Cross Farms Recreation Complex.

Tolland High's Collin Walsh (2) sets his sights on a fumble by Bristol Eastern's Matt Yopp in the first quarter of Friday night's game at Tolland High School. Walsh ran the fumble back 6 yards for a touchdown, allowing the Eagles to take an 8-7 lead.

TOLLAND — The Berlin Redcoats did not want to let the Tolland Eagles celebrate for very long, even when the Eagles were playing only for their pride at the end of the game. Following Tolland’s biggest play of the game, Berlin’s biggest player answered right back to put an exclamation point on a 48-13 Berlin victory at old Tolland High School.

Tolland High School is a public high school in Tolland, Connecticut.
Overview
Tolland High School (THS) serves students in 9th through 12th grades. Tolland High School currently has many community projects such as the Booster Club, Eagle Scramble (a golf tournament), and an online safety program sponsored by Nerac.
Music
THS has a diverse music program which includes both choral and instrumental instruction. Students can participate in the Marching, Concert, Jazz and Pep bands, as well as General Chorus, Madrigal Ensemble, Quartet Vocal ensembles. Tolland High School also presents an annual Spring Musical.
THS musicians are regularly selected to participate in both Regional and Statewide Vocal and Instrumental Ensembles
Sports
Soccer
Tolland High School soccer teams are known across CT as a tough team to beat.
Baseball
In 2006 the baseball team had one of their best seasons ever by winning the North Central Connecticut Conference (NCCC).
Basketball
The Tolland Girls' Basketball team had advanced to the semi-finals of the Class M State Tournament during the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 seasons. They were the NCCC regular season champions in the 2006-2007 season.
Cheerleading
Tolland High School's cheerleading squad is a nationally recognized team.
Cross Country
The team has won at least 5 NCCC championships, beginning with a stretch from 1989-1994. In 1992 Tolland became Connecticut's first small sized school to qualify for the New England Championship. NCCC Conference & Class M State Champions in 2003, the Men's Cross Country later became NCCC Conference Champions in 2005 and then 2006.
Football
The varsity football team played Holy Cross in the 2006 State Tournament.The Varsity team made it to the State Championship game losing to a tough game to Seymour.The Varsity team had the best team the school has ever seen in 2000 before losing a heartbreaker to Ansonia in the State Play-Offs.
Golf
In 2006, Tolland won the Division III State Tournament at Chippanee Golf Club.
In 2007, the team was State Champions and set a school record low-145
Track & Field
The girls team were NCCC champions for 2005, 2006 and 2007. The team was also state champion for 2007. The indoor relay team went all the way to nationals during the 2006-2007 season.
