  • Apopka High School is a high school located in Apopka in northwest Orange County, Florida, United States. The school, which is a part of the Orange County Public Schools, serves grades 9 through 12. The campus is divided into a ninth grade center and a Main Campus.
  • Apopka has medical careers and advanced engineering magnet programs.
  • Sports: Apopka has about 26 total sports teams. The football team won the State Championship in 2001. The team also won the District Title in 2000. In 2006 the team won the district title, metro conference title and is currently in Class 6A playoffs.
  • Notable alumni: Warren Sapp, who played for Apopka in his High School years and now currently playing with the Oakland Raiders.
  • Brandon Meriweather, who played and graduated from Apopka High and is currently playing for the University of Miami.
  • Zack Greinke, Major League Baseball player.
  • The school's home football field is Roger Williams Field.
  • Feeder patterns: Feeder elementary schools include Apopka, Clay Springs, Lakeville, Lockhart, Lovell, Riverside, Rock Springs, Wheatley, Wolf Lake, Trinity Christian and Zellwood.

  • In 2007 a new school located at 7315 North Hiawassee Road will open. The school, temporairly named Apopka Relief, will take some students away from Apopka High School.
  • In spring 1932, students were asked to choose a mascot for the athletic teams. Dr. Carey C. Womble proposed the blue darter, which won.
