- Chattahoochee High School is a public secondary school in Johns Creek, Georgia within the Fulton County School System and has been recognized as one of America's Blue Ribbon schools. The school is currently ranked as the number one high school in the State of Georgia for the ACT average composite score. [1]Chattahoochee High School has recently been given a rating of 10 out of the possible 10 by Great Schools Rating. [2]The school is located next to one of its feeder schools, Taylor Road Middle School. Usage of its Johns Creek address is becoming more common; until recently, the school's location was often given incorrectly as Alpharetta (prior to incorporation, the school was in unincorporated North Fulton; it continues to receive mail from the Alpharetta Post Office but the usage of the Johns Creek address has been approved by the U.S. Postal Service).

Chattahoochee High School competes in Region 7-AAAAA and has since 2008. The athletic offerings include typical American sports like football, baseball, track, wrestling, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, gymnastics, and lacrosse.Sports Championships:
- Men's tennis team won the 2004 AAAAA Georgia state championship.
- Baseball team won the 2005 AAAAA Georgia state championship (with 32 wins and 4 losses), finishing 23rd nationally in Baseball America's Top 50 high schools.
- The football team has won the region championship 6-times: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2003.
- The men's lacrosse team finished 2nd in the state in 2003 posting an undefeated record. The school had its first All-American in Midfielder Kevin Magyar (CHS 2003). Magyar followed his career at CHS by being a star on the University of Georgia lacrosse team (2005-2008).
- The men's soccer team was ranked 2nd in the nation in 2008.
- The women's lacrosse team won state championship against 4 time state championship defenders Milton Eagles in 2009. The Lady Cougars defeated the four time defending state champions to take home the title. They defeated Milton with a score of 9 to 7. This victory gave the Chattahoochee women's lacrosse team their first state championship. [3]

Band
- Chattahoochee has three jazz bands, three concert bands, a non-performing fundamentals band, an indoor percussion ensemble, and a marching band, conducted by Frederick H. Chang and Nicholas A. Garofalo. The Chattahoochee marching band was the 2007 USSBA Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee Tri-State champion. The marching band participated in the USSBA National Championships on November 8, 2008, in Annapolis, Maryland. The marching band took 7th in their class and 3rd overall in the percussion caption. Jazz 1, the top jazz band, was invited to perform at the Annual GMEA State Convention on Friday, January 30, 2009 in Savannah, Georgia. It was the only high school jazz group invited to the event. The indoor drumline took 1st place in two WGI regionals, and competed in the WGI World Championships on April 16, 2009.
- Orchestra
- Chattahoochee has an orchestra program conducted by Lyndon Lawless. John Peskey was the conductor during the 2008-2009 school year, and Jim Palmer was the orchestra conductor from 2001-2008. In 2008, Jim became the orchestra conductor at Allatoona High School.
- Chorus
- The chorus program was headed by Rhonda Fossum until 2009, at which time Jennifer Blevins took over. Rhonda Fossum left to become the chorus teacher at Johns Creek High School.
- Debate Team

Chattahoochee fields a nationally competitive policy/Lincon Douglas debate team. It was brought to national prominence first under the coaching of Steve Stein and Adam Smiley and then under James Herndon and Luke Hill. Both Herndon and Hill left the team to pursue teaching careers at the college level in 2008. The team is now lead by Maggie Berthumie and Lauren Vevoda. Recently, Chattahoochee has qualified multiple teams to the Tournament of Champions (seven in 2006, five in 2007, six in 2008), a record that has stamped 'Hooch Debate' as one of the top public-school debate programs in the nation.
- Alumni Pavilion

Set to be a 2730 square foot facility, the Alumni Pavilion is located at the south end of Cougar Stadium. The pavilion will contain 2046 square feet of covered space and 744 square feet of a foot viewing deck. The structure of the Alumni Pavilion will consist of steel beam construction, wood finished columns, and a concrete deck. Centered on the hill between the track and the school parking lot, the pavilion is positioned to outlook the stadium. Dedicated to all of the past and future graduates of Chattahoochee High School, the Alumni Pavilion's purpose is to serve as a site of congregation for school and community groups. Completion of the pavilion is scheduled for July 2009. [4]

In the 2006-2007 school year, the Chattahoochee Chess Team was formed. In the 2007 Georgia High School Team State Championships, Chattahoochee placed 3rd overall. In 2008, they placed 5th.
