School Reviews

I am a graduate of Brookwood High. I received an excellent education. I continued my education and received two college degrees. My only complaint was that the school was very large (even when I went there) and I would've preferred to go to a smaller school, but hands-down I received the best education. My favorite teacher was Dr. O''Neal. He definitely prepared me for the college professors and my college courses. Proud to be a Bronco!

The academics are wonderful. The extracurricular activities are excellent. The school is due for a major remodeling or new building. The facilities should match the top tier academics

This school is great. (I am saying this to get the reviews up because, some person below me completely lied on their review.)

Graduation rate is 96.2%. I'm not sure what the previous post is referring to when he mentions the drop out rate being unbelievable. And as far as the teachers go - you can look at the ACT scores and see that yes, they do indeed teach. Brookwood's Composite mean score is 23.7. State average score is 19.1. Brookwood consistently ranks higher than Gwinnett County Public Schools' average in all areas. This is a very good school, and a good community to live in. You can look at the Accountability Report for Brookwood High School - all testing information is there. In fact, pull the Accountability Report for surrounding schools - Brookwood is by far the best in the area.

I had a terrible experience at this school. Don't let the nice area and surroundings fool you- drugs, gangs, and violence in general are the norm. The administrators are not logical people in dealing with these situations. Bullying by staff and students is an everyday occurance for many students. I witnessed this too many times. The school is overcrowded with trailors everywhere to complicate things. The drop-out rate is unbelievable and should be investigated. I was saved by being moved by my parents to a safer school where education is first and ALL STUDENTS SUCCEEDING is the first business of the day. Teachers really do teach in some schools, just not this one. If you are wondering about better schools and whether or not to move your child.......it is the best thing that ever happened to me!!! If you are thinking of moving to te prestigeous area based on the school there........please reconsider the possible damage that may be done to your child there, and the substandard education they will receive, not to mention the negative people and experiences they WILL be subjected to daily. When I say moving to another school out of the county SAVED ME...I mean it literally!!!! I now know I can succeed and am doing just fine!!!!
Review Brookwood High School. Reviews should be a few sentences in length. Please include any comments on:
