A pipe leaked hot water into a hallway at Blackfoot High School Wednesday morning delaying classes in that area for almost two hours. No one was hurt, and overall damage was minimal, but students say the delay was a major inconvenience.

A burst water pipe is to blame for disrupting classes at Blackfoot High School Wednesday morning. First period was interrupted when a hot water pipe broke on the second floor.

A water pipe carrying hot water to heat the school broke in Blackfoot High School Wednesday morning. Students were temporarily evacuated, but the situations was resolved in about an hour.

Blackfoot High School is a high school in Blackfoot, Idaho.
History
Blackfoot High School was founded in the early 1890s. The current school building, built in the 1950s, was given a new science wing in the mid 1990's and in the early 2000s, a new auditorium and gymnasium. The school, sitting adjacent to Stoddard Elementary, has full athletic grounds and a fine arts wing.
Athletics
Blackfoot has had a long tradition of athletics, winning 4A state wrestling in 2007 and again in 2008, and the Broncos football team's 12-0 2007 season ended in a state victory, the first since 1933 for the school.
Academics and arts
The school A Capella choir has won several awards in the Pacific Northwest. The school marching, jazz, and symphonic bands under the direction of Jan Eddington, have also received acclaim in the region. The Bronco Marching Band recently won three third place awards at the Davis Cup, ISU, and Treasure Valley marching band Competitions.
Debating
The school debate team has won over 8 state championships during the 1980s and 1990's. In 2005-06 the team won the State A Policy Debate championship, due to the scoring system, beating rival Hillcrest High School. The team competes locally and participates at a few larger national circuit tournaments, such as the "Tournament of Champions" at Whitman College, and the Alta Silver and Black, in Alta, Utah. The team has also qualified students to the National Forensics League tournament.

The Blackfoot High School newspaper, BroncWriter, has 8 published issues.
