Pipe containing radiation did not pose safety threat (Effingham Daily News)

A metal pipe that surrounded the old track behind Altamont Grade School was found to have contained naturally occurring radiation when the school district prepared to get rid of it, Unit 10 Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch said.
