Batavia High School, or BHS, is a public four-year high school located in Batavia, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States.It was created by the merger of West Batavia High School and East Batavia High School (and their separate school districts) in 1911 and is part of Batavia Community Unit School District # 101; the East Batavia and West Batavia athletic programs merged in 1909. The school is currently under construction.
Academics
In 2005, Batavia had an average composite ACT score of 22.2, and graduated 97.8% of its senior class. The average class size is 24.1. .
Athletics
Batavia currently competes in the Western Sun Conference and is a founding member of the organization. The school is a full member of the Illinois High School Association. The schools mascot is a Bulldog and the team is often referred to as the "Battlin' Bulldogs." The school's biggest rival is the Vikings from Geneva High School, the school is just a few minutes away in the neighboring town to the north of Geneva.
The Bulldogs are known for their boys basketball tradition for nearly a century. Batavia finished 4th in 1921, and won its only state championship in 1912. Former Bulldogs hoopsters include Ken Anderson, Dan Issel, Corey Williams, and TNT sideline announcer Craig Sager.
The football program has made one appearance in the State Finals (6A - 2006).
The Boys Soccer program finished 3rd in 1993 when it which featured Mike Fisher, class valedictorian and Gatorade National High School Player of the Year. Fisher finshed 5th on the state career scoring list with 140 career goals. He became one of the most decorated American soccer players in history.
The Girls Track and Field squad finished 3rd in 2008.
Music
There are approximately 500 students in the school involved in music, with 13 curricular ensembles and 8 extracurricular ensembles.

Dan Issel was a professional basketball player, playing in the ABA (1970-76) and NBA (1976-85). He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993.

Mike Fisher Soccer Player - Gatorade National High School Player of the Year, Winner of two Hermann Trophies while in college, two time All-American, and also named to the College Soccer Team of the Century.
