NORMAL — A new atmosphere surrounded the Carlinville High School Cavaliers at the Class 2A State Volleyball Tournament, and an unfamiliar label came with it. In its first trip to state in program history, Carlinville faced the defending 2A-champion Freeburg Midgets in the semifinals Friday at Redbird Arena. The Midgets used a balance attack for a 25-17, 25-20 victory.
