Dave and Debbie Beattie have always been runners. They both ran in college and kept running after they were married. After their first two daughters, Elise and Kayla, were born, they sought ways to manage their roles as parents while maintaining their passion for running.

Woodstock High School, home of the Blue Streaks, is a high school located in Woodstock, Illinois. It is a part of Woodstock Community Unit School District 200. Established in 1921, it is located fifteen minutes south of Wisconsin and one hour northwest of Chicago. It has a population of around 2,000 students.
