Several Goessel High School students earned places on Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) South Central District band and chorus. The students auditioned live Nov. 14 at Andover Central High School. The South Central District is one of six in Kansas.

A pair of town hall meetings have been scheduled to talk about a solid waste and recycling program for the Andover community. The first meeting to receive public comment and questions about the plan will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Andover High School, 1744 N. Andover Road. A second public meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Andover Central High School, 603 E. Central.

Andover Central High School is a fully-accredited public high school in Andover, Kansas, serving students in grades 9-12. Andover Central High School is located at the intersection of Central and Andover Road, east of Andover Rd. and south of Central Rd. Class size is small, normally no more than 30 in a class and about 150 in a graduating class. There are approximately 700 students in attendance at Andover Central High School. It is right next to ACMS (Andover Central Middle School). The head principal is Mr. Templin and the athletic director is Mr. Carr.
Extracurricular Activities
The extracurricular activities offered at Andover Central High School are many and varied due to the school's medium size. The Jaguars compete in the Greater Wichita Athletic League and are classified as a 4A school, the third-largest classification in Kansas according to the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Throughout its history, Andover Central has won 5 state championships in various sports. Andover Central has been very productive since its inception in 2001. The varsity baseball team has had a lot of success with multiple runners-up finishes. Both the boys' and girls' basketball teams have placed second in the state championship. The girls basketball team won the 4A state championship in the 2007-08 season with a 26-0 record. The boys' golf team has won state three times, occurring in 2003, 2006, and 2009. In 2009, the boys basketball made it to state.
