  • Boyd County High School is a public high school located in Cannonsburg, Kentucky, an unincorporated community served by the Ashland post office. It is part of the Boyd County Public Schools school district. Boyd County is known for its cheerleaders, who like many squads in Eastern Kentucky, are extremely talented. The 1995 and 1996 squads, comprised of the same 18 members due to lack of senior cheerleaders in 95, took fifth and then first place at UCA National Championship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This accomplishment was captured nationally on ESPN.
