Veterans Day parade held at BPCC (Bossier Press-Tribune)

Shreveport and Bossier City celebrated Vetera’s Day early Saturday by holding the area’s first Veterans Day Parade and Massig of Colors. Hundreds of soldiers past, present, and future marched around the Bossier Parish Community College campus.

Navy Airman Nicole G. Austin, daughter of Leona G. Austin of Bossier City, La. and Roy G. Venious of Bossier City, and more than 5, 000 fellow sailors and Marines aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), San Diego, Calif., recently returned from a five-month deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility (AOR).

Bossier High to induct alumni into Hall of Fame (Bossier Press-Tribune)

The Bossier High School Alumni Association has determined the 2009 class of inductees celebrating Bossier High’s 92 years as a school. The recipients will be inducted on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in the BHS auditorium. Former Governor Buddy Roemer will emcee the event.
